Position Summary

Robert Walters, New York specializes in permanent career placement in the following areas: Data & Machine Learning, Finance & Operations, Go-To-Market, Legal & Compliance, Product Management, Risk Management and Software Engineering.

As an Technical Recruiter you will join a team of experienced recruiters who are specialists in their niche markets. Your role will involve managing the recruitment process from beginning to end, providing an exceptional level of service to clients and candidates alike. You can also expect to be involved in a range of business development and networking activities to help us build even stronger client relationships – and attract new ones. At the same time, you will look to establish a strong pipeline of high caliber candidates within your sector so we can always match the right people to the right roles.


Our New York team partners directly with high-growth technology start-ups, venture capital and private equity firms, as well as some household names in the banking sector. You’ll mostly be consulting with Hiring Managers, Founders and CEO's helping them attract the very best emerging leadership talent in the market.

You will have the opportunity to deliver true full-cycle recruitment, including:

  • Generating revenue by making placements and consistently exceeding billing targets.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of your specialized industry and consistently show initiative to increase knowledge.
  • Source, select and match candidates with appropriate roles, ensuring only the highest quality candidates are put forward to clients, for existing roles or on a speculative basis
  • Arrange interviews, ensuring candidates are fully briefed and providing regular communications and feedback
  • Be an ambassador of the RW Brand both internally and externally and uphold and demonstrates RW corporate values and adheres to internal policies
  • Set a good example and act as a mentor to all team members
  • Organizing and attending meetings with prospective clients

Candidate Management:

  • Sourcing new candidates for the business using a variety of methods, including headhunting, referrals, and networking events.
  • Managing a portfolio of candidates by remaining in close contact with individuals actively seeking a new position and those who may be considering new roles in future
  • Conducting telephone based and face-to-face interviews with candidates
  • Conducting specific recruiting projects

Business Development:

Meeting set targets in relation to:

  • Researching news and developments affecting relevant industry sectors to build knowledge and credibility within the marketplace.
  • Proactively acting upon information gathered from candidates, clients, and research
  • Identifying business opportunities by speaking to clients and candidates selling the services offered by Robert Walters over the phone and during meetings
  • Develop strong internal cross-divisional and cross-regional relationships to facilitate cross-selling with other teams and offices
  • Ability to sell retained assignments and exclusive searches

Client/Account Management:

Meeting set targets in relation to:

  • Developing existing relationships by arranging and attending meetings with existing and new client contacts
  • Professionally and effectively managing the recruitment process from beginning to end (with supervision from senior consultants and/or managers)
  • Demonstrates an ability to develop and maintain senior client contacts
  • Ability to illicit senior roles from clients

About you

To join us as an Technical Recruiter, your skills and experience should include:

  • Bachelor's Degree preferred, not required
  • Recruitment experience is not necessary as you will be provided with all the relevant training in order to be successful
  • Relocation assistance for provided for those not based in NY as well as visa sponsorship for those abroad
