About the Role

The Human Resources Project Lead will work with the Your Other Half team to provide human resources services to small business clients across the US.

Key Results for 2022

  1. Directly supporting and providing services for approximately ten clients, ensuring high quality, compliant and on-time results that meet and exceed the clients’ needs. This work will be in collaboration with a Human Resources Coordinator and with the support of the whole Human Resources team.
  2. Maintaining proactive and responsive daily communications with clients and colleagues, through Zoom video or phone meetings, email, text, or Slack.
  3. Recognize and communicate to clients about opportunities for additional products or services that can improve their overall business as it relates to people.

Roles and Responsibilities

The Human Resources Project Lead will perform the following roles and responsibilities:

  • Leading the work for around ten Your Other Half clients, in close collaboration with three other Human Resources experts, including:
  • Managing daily, weekly and monthly client communications, as well as attending client calls, and writing and sending meeting and weekly wrap-ups.
  • Tracking all deliverables for each of your clients and ensuring their successful and timely completion using our project management software, Asana.
  • Drafting, updating and editing Human Resources documents, such as job descriptions or postings, employment agreements, employee handbooks, and organizational charts, with attention to a high level of detail and process.
  • Preparing, sending, and reviewing Human Resources onboarding and hiring documents, using web-based software, with a focus on reviewing client-specific processes as well as HR requirements.
  • Managing the benefits quoting process with insurance brokers, payroll companies and PEOs, including gathering census data and required documents.
  • Preparing and processing payroll, using web-based software, including reviewing and entering employee timesheets and working closely with clients for timely completion.
  • Managing Human Resources data, including client and internal HRIS, Human Resources calendars, spreadsheets and timelines, as well as distributing and recording of data, such as sending annual notices and recording employees’ receipts.
  • Maintaining digital Human Resources files on behalf of our clients.
  • Liaising with internal staff and clients to manage client Human Resources needs proactively and professionally.
  • Contributing to the creation and upkeep of operating procedures and systems within Your Other Half’s business and our clients' businesses.

Position type: This position is expected to work approximately 35 hours per week. There is a contingency period of 90 days. After a successful first 90 days, a permanent, benefits-eligible role may be offered but this is not guaranteed.

Position start date: ASAP

Position compensation: $20.50-$21.50 per hour, based on relevant experience.

Position Location: This is a remote position, but the employee must be based in the U.S. and eligible to work in the U.S.

Job requirements

A strong candidate will have:

  • At least five (5) years of relevant experience working in a human resources or people operations role.
  • Experience in both professional and remote work settings, having worked in at least two professional environments previously, and at least one remote environment previously.
  • A positive, optimistic attitude, and the ability to recognize and celebrate wins of all sizes.
  • Openness to constructive, supportive feedback and a commitment to consistently improve.
  • Superb communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to provide clear information in a timely way to support internal or client decisions.
  • An ability to learn new things quickly, especially web-based software and apps.
  • Calm under pressure and be unflappable in the face of timely or urgent requests.
  • Strong attention to detail, with the ability to ensure accuracy and high quality across multiple responsibilities, especially in writing and editing documents.
  • High self-motivation with the ability to discern when to take initiative independently and when to ask for help to move through work more effectively.
  • Comfort managing multiple responsibilities at once, and prioritizing amongst them with ease within a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
  • Delight in highly repetitive and concentration-heavy work.
  • An ability to not only do the work but also think about how it could be better and more efficient, with the confidence to make recommendations and push back when changes are needed in workflows or systems.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Demonstrated experience in at least two of the following:
  • A small business setting (ideally in a company with 50 or fewer employees).
  • An entrepreneurial environment, preferably within the first five years of a company.
  • Working for multiple bosses or projects at one time.
  • Tool expertise including at least two of the following: Asana, Harvest, Google Suite, Slack, and Zoom.
