We are looking for an Employee Relations Consultant to join our team. Our aim is to create supportive, high integrity experiences for our people throughout their journey at the company. You will play a critical role in delivering that experience through 1:1 interactions as well as informing the way we grow through best practices and resources that have impact across a scaling business. .

While we are embracing a remote-flexible work week, employees are expected to be within commuting distance of an office. The frequency of in-office days will be determined on a team-by-team basis closer to the reopening of our offices.

What You’ll Do

  • Support leaders in managing performance through expectation setting, performance improvement and, as required, termination. Provide expert coaching and counseling.
  • Partner with third party services to smoothly manage our leave and accommodation policies and programs, balancing individual considerations with fairness.
  • Help to create and maintain intuitive employee and manager facing resources that enable self service.
  • Leverage insights from trends across populations to influence the programs we build, training we provide, investments we make and People products that we build to be more highly attuned to the needs of our workforce.
  • Manage investigations and disciplinary action process as required interfacing with employees, leaders, and legal counsel as required.
  • In partnership with the Compliance team and legal counsel, ensure that Collective Health’s employee handbook and employment practices are up to date and appropriately implemented across the organization. Educate internal team members on new and changing legal requirements and support their application to the business as required.
  • Define and develop standard processes, documentation, quality and service standards for performance improvement plans and investigations.

Your Skills Include

  • 6-8 years of experience of employee relations
  • Successfully partnering with a wide variety of stakeholders (from senior leaders to early career employees) on highly sensitive employee relations issues, appropriately exercising judgement and maintaining confidentiality.
  • Extensive experience working both hourly and salary populations.
  • Extensive experience managing complex involuntary terminations, investigations and disciplinary actions.
  • Familiarity and comfort working with leave laws in California and the interactive accommodation process.
  • Experience and comfort handling multiple cases at once, maintaining empathy for the parties involved.
  • Approaching problem solving with positive intent and grounded in our company values.
  • Demonstrated comfort handling ambiguity while knowing where the bright lines are and able to apply that knowledge to situations with skill to enable the business, create fair and equitable outcomes for employees and manage risk.
