About the job

GiveCampus is the world's leading digital fundraising and engagement platform for non-profit educational institutions. Trusted by 1,000+ colleges, universities, and K-12 schools, our mission is to help advance the quality, the affordability, and the accessibility of education. We operate at a meaningful scale, but we’re still small relative to the commercial and social good opportunities in front of us--and a single motivated individual can still have a substantial impact on the trajectory of the company. GiveCampus received a seed investment from Y Combinator in 2015 and has been profitable and cash flow positive since 2016.

Our team of 60+ is located in 18 U.S. states: team members work from home (or anywhere else they like!) and we have a beautiful 12,000sf office in Washington, DC that team members can use whenever they want. We're expanding the team to support our continued growth and we’re looking to hire exceptional, diverse candidates.

Why we're recruiting a Director of HR...

We believe that our competitive advantage lies in our people and that a key driver to our long-term success is enabling teams and individuals to thrive. We are looking for a Director of HR who will help make GiveCampus a great place to work and grow. You’ll work with executives, managers, and team members across the company to strategize and implement systems, processes, and programs that help people succeed.

What You'll Do

  • Serve as a thought partner and advisor to GiveCampus managers and executives on all things people-related including: employee relations; performance management and coaching; leveling; review processes; compensation strategy; and HR policies and programs.
  • Act as an advocate and go-to resource for GiveCampus employees.
  • Design and execute initiatives that cultivate an inclusive and welcoming culture.
  • Collaborate with managers and executives to implement learning and development programs that help GiveCampers achieve meaningful growth.
  • Work closely with Talent to deliver a high-quality experience for new employees, including a world-class onboarding experience.
  • Analyze people data and trends to inform decisions on strategy and programs.
  • Help ensure GiveCampus’s compliance with federal, state, and local labor regulations; maintain the employee handbook; and provide support for payroll and benefits administration.

We're Looking For Someone Who Has

  • A passion for people and a strong customer service orientation.
  • A clear, approachable, and friendly communication style.
  • A builder’s mentality and a readiness to try new things and embrace new ideas.
  • 5+ years of experience implementing people programs including employee relations, compliance, DEIB, and employee learning and development.
  • Experience with both technical and non-technical client groups and a deep understanding of both groups’ frames of reference.

At GiveCampus, we value diversity and we pledge to foster an environment of support, inclusivity, and learning, both on the job and throughout the application process. In this spirit, we welcome applications from candidates of all backgrounds, including people of color, persons with disabilities, and the LGBTQ+ community.

If you feel like you don't meet all of the requirements for this role, we encourage you to apply anyways. We know the confidence gap and imposter syndrome often get in the way of connecting with incredible people, and we don't want them to prevent us from meeting you.

We're always looking to hire amazing people, so if you're excited about what we're doing but none of our currently-listed positions sound like you, please send us a note at careers@givecampus.com; we'd love to hear from you and see if a different or future role might be a match.
