About The Team

The People Operations team at Subsplash is all about attracting, growing, and retaining top talent. We are responsible for the entire employee experience including recruiting, HR, payroll, leadership development, office management, company culture, and corporate events. About The Role

In this executing role you will drive all people operations (HR) related activities for our rapidly scaling company to include employee relations, compensation, performance management, benefits administration management, compliance, M&A, payroll, and 401k administration. You will lead the People Operations team to ensure that priorities and programs are effectively executed and delivered to cultivate a delightful experience for our employees that enables them to do their best work more often. You will report directly to our VP of People Operations and partner with executives in all areas of the company to help build and support their departments. You are a culture champion, an empathetic coach, a servant leader, and a critical thinker who knows how to drive for excellence and innovation at the same time.

Your Priorities

  • Lead a team responsible for all people-related initiatives, including Onboarding, Offboarding, performance management, compliance, compensation, total rewards, retention, learning and development, and employee relations.
  • Enhance the Subsplash culture by developing effective programs and initiatives that keep our employees closely knit, especially in a remote-first work environment
  • Serve as a trusted resource to managers and employees, guiding them through career development and interpersonal conversations
  • Own and evolve our people tech stack including payroll, HRIS, engagement, and performance management systems to ensure integrated systems that scale efficiently as our company continues to scale
  • Track people data and analytics to ensure data-driven decision-making at all times, incorporating qualitative and quantitative feedback from engagement surveys, 1:1s, and other sources into creating effective and empathetic people programs
  • Partner with Talent Acquisition, IT, Legal/Risk, among others to ensure key cross-departmental objectives and projects are met and delivered with excellence
  • Evaluate the competitive landscape and create strategies to adapt to changing market trends to ensure that our compensation and benefits offerings remain competitive
  • Support M&A due diligence and integration/onboarding process
  • Ensure our policies and practices are in compliance and effectively communicated and followed
  • Lead the development and training of systems, policies, processes, and procedures.
  • Create and launch company-wide programs and initiatives on the employee experience, engagement and recognition, while always thinking about how we can scale these programs.
  • Direct our yearly open enrollment process, payroll, and benefits administration; evaluate new vendors and partners as necessary
  • Advise leaders regarding legal and regulatory compliance: FMLA, ADA, FLSA, EEO, & OSHA
  • Mentor and coach the team.

Required Education And Experience

  • 10+ years previous experience in the People/Human Resources function within a high-growth, scaling organization; 3+ years in a People Operations Leadership role
  • In-depth understanding of HR best practices and HR/Employment laws, with the ability to move seamlessly from strategy development to execution
  • Proven ability to develop high performing people teams
  • High level of integrity and ability to use good judgment
  • Strong people management and coaching skills
  • Excellent communication skills, with executive presence and poise
  • Experience administering employee benefits, including health, welfare and 401(k).
  • Experience with HRIS and payroll systems.
  • Ability to operate with autonomy and flexibility and adapt quickly to a fast-changing environment
  • Keen ability to connect easily with others and create positive positioning within a particular context or subject matter.
  • Experience managing vendor relationships–contracts, invoices, negotiations, renewals, etc.

Travel

  • This position requires quarterly visits to the Austin Office.
