The Position

The Director of People Operations will be responsible for being an integral part of the Talent & Culture team. You will be adept at balancing the needs of the employees as well as the business. You will help create processes that scale as the company grows as well as generates buy in from our internal customers.

You will actively look to partner with management to foster proactive engagement and create strong partnerships. In order to be successful in this role there is a requirement of generalist knowledge in several areas that include but are not limited to employee relations, compensation, performance management, career planning and compliance.

Reporting directly to the Vice President of Talent & Culture; you will manage a small team of people operations professionals and will be responsible for ensuring the team remains productive and engaged. What You'll Do

  • Ownership of the Company's review process
  • Ensure managers are equipped to engage in constructive and ongoing feedback and coaching and employees are equipped to provide upward feedback as well as engage in constructive conversations with management
  • Responsible for maintaining and driving adoption to 15five
  • Partner with the People Operations team to automate a process to collect feedback from all new hires (and new managers) after 60 days to gauge satisfaction with the onboarding process and adjustment to their new roles.
  • Ensure any necessary feedback gets to managers and/or leadership where appropriate
  • Under the guidance of the VP of Talent & Culture design and implement program strategies to support the long-term business objectives
  • Recommend new approaches, policies and procedures to continually improve the efficiency of the organization while maintaining company culture, mission and vision.
  • Handle employee relations issues such as employee complaints and harassment allegations.
  • Whenever possible follow the issue from start to finish (following up with the manager and employee to ensure communication is accurate and appropriate, assist in referring issues out and terminating when necessary)
  • Review, provide guidance, and approve all management recommendations for employment terminations.
  • Lead and manage a People Operations team responsible for managing the employee experience (onboarding, benefits, off-boarding, first impressions, L&D, etc.) throughout the employee lifecycle
  • Wherever possible create relationships with internal customers to ensure you are seen as someone they can proactively partner with.
  • Analyze trends in compensation and benefits; research and propose competitive base and incentive pay programs to ensure the organization attracts and retains top talent.
  • Support major initiatives and projects
  • Currently partnering with Engineering and Product organizations on Action Planning based on recent survey results

What You'll Need

  • 6+ years in a Human Resources role preferably in a fast growing company that has gone from 200-500 employees
  • 3+ years of management experience preferred
  • Experience with HRIS, Compensation Tool and Performance Management Software (Namely, Culpepper and 15five preferred)
  • Demonstrated understanding and application of strategic Human Resources areas including talent development, employee relations, employee engagement, compliance, change management and compensation
  • Demonstrates ability to build credibility, serving as a trusted adviser and confidant to managers & employees
  • Proactive problem solving skills
  • Entrepreneurial and team-oriented spirit with ability to effectively work across all levels of the organization
  • A high degree of professionalism and strong work ethic coupled with a sense of responsibility and integrity
  • Communicate clearly and effectively in both verbal and written communications
  • Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities
  • Experience facilitating and creating company wide trainings on new processes and driving adoption
