About the job

The Association for Prenatal & Perinatal Psychology and Health (APPPAH) is expanding our global reach and mission in the world. We have grown significantly over the last year with new programs and membership opportunities. We are looking to add to our great staffing team to support the work we do to improve birth outcomes, bonding in families, and emotional healing.

This position works closely with our Board of Directors, Education Director, Outreach/Marketing Director, and committee volunteers as part of a collaborative team to facilitate the administrative and human resources support for APPPAH’s initiatives.

We are looking for an organized self-motivated resourceful problem-solver who is collaborative and works well in a team environment. Strong verbal and written communication skills are essential, as well as a creative approach to problem solving. Background experience in the field of prenatal and perinatal birth would be preferred but not required.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES: (expanded details available upon request)

  • Collaborate with CFO and APPPAH’s Board in the financial and budgeting process
  • Manage daily financial processes
  • Provide direct membership support
  • Supervise Administrative Assistant
  • Facilitate online Board/Committee meetings and records
  • Support APPPAH’s President with administrative and communication tasks
  • Manage APPPAH’s Human Resources services (currently 6 staff in 4 states, plus contractors)
  • Keeps policies and services up to date with changing regulations regarding business/nonprofit activity and as an employer or service provider
  • Maintain current & archived organization records; manage team member access and logins
  • Actively support, uphold, and maintain APPPAH’s commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion


  • Experienced HR and Administrative Specialist (2+ years)
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite especially Excel & Word
  • QuickBooks or QuickBooks Online proficiency
  • Prior experience working with a nonprofit Board
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills
  • Be collaborative, patient, friendly, and able to work well in a remote team environment
  • Ability to answer live phone calls; respond with the highest membership/client support standards
  • Ability to support and grow Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion within APPPAH
  • Ability to learn new databases and computer apps quickly
  • Access to reliable computer and printer/scanner
  • Access to reliable internet and cellular service

ADDITIONAL PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE (not required; we are willing to train):

  • Experience setting up and managing HR services across multiple States
  • Gusto or other online payroll processing system as admin
  • Fundraising, donor relations, and grant writing/management success
  • Donor management system experience (i.e., DonorBox or GiveLively)
  • Google/Gmail apps proficiency
  • Payment processing systems management experience (Stripe and PayPal preferred)
  • Email and marketing platform use (ConverKit preferred)
  • Proficient with advanced Zoom features and group licenses
  • International business/nonprofit experience a bonus
  • Background or experience with APPPAH or similar organizations a bonus
  • Experience using WordPress, Restrict Content Pro, WooCommerce a bonus

COMPENSATION: $25/hr, 30 hrs/wk, $3250/month, flexible work schedule, complementary APPPAH Premier monthly membership during employment, and access to APPPAH education resources.
