About The Role

As Manager of People Operations, you will play a critical role in ensuring that Chief’s People Operations function is innovative, strategic, and data-centric while ultimately supporting our greatest asset - our people. You will act as a project manager to help drive the implementation and adoption of various programs, processes, and initiatives while helping to shepherd our team through change and transition as we scale. You will be responsible for HR data integrity and analytics that will allow us to make the smartest people decisions while moving at speed. Reporting to the Senior Director of People Operations, you will be hands-on while being able to effectively flex from strategic to tactical work while remaining a thoughtful leader that provides coaching, support, and development within the People Ops Team, and with key stakeholders throughout the organization.

What You’ll Do

  • Help design, project manage, and execute Chief’s DEI initiatives
  • Effectively manage and oversee our internal ERG's through direct alignment and application of our DEI strategy
  • Help to build, implement and provide a best-in-class employee experience through a fit-for-purpose approach to support an inclusive and diverse community throughout the company
  • Assist in building standardized metrics and evaluation processes across HR programs to ensure a data-driven approach when evaluating and addressing needs
  • Ability to comprehend, interpret, and apply the appropriate sections of applicable laws, guidelines, regulations, ordinances, and policies where we have entities; actively maintain and update employee policies in accordance with local, state, and federal law
  • Ensure oversight and governance of policies and practices globally, including interpreting and applying understanding of business policies and practices, employment laws, and other regulations to provide advice, guidance, or clarification
  • Maintain appropriate level of process, program, and policy knowledge in order to assist team members
  • Competence in interpreting internal compensation framework and external market survey data, in addition to identifying emerging trends
  • Proactively identify people, process, and compliance inefficiencies and inconsistencies and collaborate towards improved and more productive practices that improve Chief’s internal practices
  • Research best practices and innovative people policies to ensure Chief is fully prepared and compliant as we scale
  • Support upcoming HRIS implementation by providing historical, functional, and technical expertise including system configurations, managing settings, business process enhancements, troubleshooting issues, and ensuring overall data quality and integrity
  • Act as a subject matter leader to provide coaching to management of all levels on addressing a variety of people issues while effectively mitigating business and company risk and advocating for employees
  • Proactively propose and create new systems and programs to improve ways of working and modernize our approach and processes

What You’ve Done And Enjoy Doing

  • Knowledge and experience in employment law, compensation and benefits, organizational development, people analytics, and employee relations
  • Prior experience supporting and building a scalable infrastructure
  • Experience in leading and supporting department-specific and org-wide strategic initiatives, soliciting buy-in, partnering with cross-functional partners and driving scalable solutions
  • Experience driving improvements that have resulted in measurable business impact
  • Experience with stakeholder management, program design/management, and change management
  • Proven analytical capabilities; experience with large datasets and in developing audit reports, metrics, and key insights through various reporting mechanisms
  • Ability to prioritize and drive ownership of projects
  • High emotional and social intelligence, as well as exceptional interpersonal and communication skills
  • Solution-oriented with strong problem solving and critical thinking skills while exercising sound judgment
  • Able to communicate complex ideas and business concepts in accessible terms
  • Passion for providing employees with the best possible experience
  • Strength in developing bold, creative solutions to address scaling challenges
  • Strong consultation skills and experience influencing and interacting with leaders
  • Prior work experience in People Operations in a high growth, technology-based environment
