As a result, it’s creating an unbalanced world where there are programmers and those who are programmed.

Before the printing press, access to written knowledge was limited. The invention of the printing press allowed books to be distributed widely, which led to widespread literacy and democratic, scientific, and industrial revolutions. Still, society did not transform overnight. Generations had to grow up with new skills, outlooks, and ways of learning & communicating.

Replit exists to bring the next billion software creators online.

Position: VP People & Recruiting


At Replit, we're on a mission to make programming more accessible. We believe the tools for software creation should be in the hands of more people. Anyone, anywhere, regardless of their access to expensive computers or education, can code. Making programming simpler and more accessible will open up the internet economy to more people around the world.

The number one mandate for Replit's incoming people leader will be to build & grow a high-performing team that rewards impact, creativity, and delights our users.

Potential Roles & Responsibilities


* Build the most talented team at any startup

* Lead and grow Replit's People, HR, and Recruiting team

* Sit on Replit's leadership team

* Tell the story of why Replit is an amazing place to work

* Take ownership of Replit's hiring plan

* Recruit from Replit's global community and hire diverse talent

* Maintain what makes Replit's culture special and adapt as we grow

* Ensure Replit's remote and in-person team works effectively together (and has fun)

Key Qualifications


* Prior experience in People & Recruiting at a high-growth startup

* Leadership and management experience

* Strong internal and external communicator

* Extensive professional network

* Decisiveness and compassion in times of crisis

Bonus Points


* Experience at a social or creator economy business

* Experience at a developer tools company

* Know how to and enjoy coding

* Passion for education and making programming more accessible

Job Location:


Global (overlap 4 hours with US Pacific Time), San Francisco preferred
